5 reasons to go to Fire is Gold Festival this year
Since last year, Belgium finally has its very own hip hop festival. Now that the festival is less than one week away, it’s time to start the countdown. Here’s what you can expect this Saturday:
A beautiful setting
The festival takes place at Drie Fonteinen park in Vilvoorde. It’s probably one of the oldest and most historical parks in Belgium. This Saturday, the park’s legendary gardens will turn into one big hip hop party. There are four stages on the domain, hosted by VICE Belgium, BLOODY LOUIS, TRILLERS, SLICE OF PIE and ClitClap.
A mind blowing line-up
Just like last year, Fire is Gold invited the best rappers, hip hop acts and soul artists from all over Belgium to Vilvoorde. You’ll get a chance to see some of today's finest Belgian hip hop performers.
Last week, the festival also announced the controversial Tekachi 6IX9INE. He’s one of the hottest topics in the rap game right now and is known for his legendary live shows. Definitely a big fish to look forward to, even if it’s just for his colorful looks.

Free drinks + cheaper tickets
Unlike most Belgian festivals, Fire is Gold decided to lower the price of the festival tickets. There’s also a good chance you'll score some beers for free. The soccer match Belgium VS Tunisia will be streamed live on a big screen and for every goal the bar opens one free beer keg!
FIG will have its very own Red Bull skate ramp where you can show off your crazy skate skills and tricks. If you’re not that into hitting the deck, just chill at the ClitClap stage next to the ramp. The resident-DJ’s will be serving the best hip hop, trap & rnb beats.
Just like last year, the festival will also hosts the Basketball Dunk Kings showoff. You get a chance to see basketball legends Joel 'The Royal Guard' Henry & Kristaps 'The Hulk' Dargais live in action. In between the showcases you can of course play some ball yourself.
Besides that, there's also some breakdancing, BMX sessions and a street art workshop by Wallin'.
The hottest fashion
Fire is Gold is all about music, sports, but also fashion. Panthers sneaker store hosts a sneaker expo and already released custom FiGxPanthers basketball Jerseys.
At the festival site itself, various other urban sports brands are presenting their own FIG-collabs. The festival also launched its own series of unisex hoodies. You can still get yours at their webshop.
