Lord Gasmique drops his first EP ‘Mieux’
Lord Gasmique aka Stéphane-Antoine Eklou is a 20-year-old rapper on the frontlines of the Brussels’ hip-hop scene. He’s part of Six O’Clock Gang and has been working on his solo career in the meantime. Amongst other things, he made the soundtrack for the film ‘Tueurs’ and released the track ‘Flex’ together with Roméo Elvis. Lord Gasmique dropped his first EP 'Mieux' on Friday, April 5.
The 10 solo tracks on 'Mieux' are exclusively produced by Brussels beat maker DEE EYE. With this EP, Lord Gasmique has laid the foundations for his career and solo launch. We asked Stéphane some quick questions about his new project:
WHAT WAS THE MAIN IDEA BEHIND THIS EP?
'Before, I was just doing freestyles from time to time. This project is a big step in my life since I worked on it for a long time. The purpose of this EP is to introduce myself officially. It’s a piece of identity, in fact, this EP is me'
HOW DID THE COLLABORATION WITH DEE EYE GO?
'I met DEE EYE 3 years ago and we instantly connected. I thank heaven for meeting a person like him. He brought me a true vision of music: our music is a work of art before being a product. For this project, I tried to open myself up, go to different places that I haven't been before. I hope that people will also make the effort to open up their minds and really listen to my sound.'
On April 11, Lord Gasmique will put Ancienne Belgique on fire with his heavy-toned voice and dark and ego tripping lyrics. Eddy Ape will be the support act during the first part of the show! See you there?
