Street artist Lindert Steegen at Summer Carnival Hasselt
This year would have marked the 10 year anniversary of Street Art Festival Hasselt but then Covid-19 happened. Luckily organizer Kurt Bosmans wasn’t ready to throw in the towel just yet. He collaborated with Daan Linsen from Alley Gallery and they came up with a new and Corona-safe concept: Summer Carnival.
10 weeks in a row a new street art intervention takes place somewhere in Hasselt. During week 3 we caught up with Lindert Steegen while he was finishing his huge wall at the ‘Astridparking’. Lindert talks about how the online world inspired him to go out and start painting walls and about how painting kids’ bedrooms led to bigger projects.
By the way, Lindert is still looking for a studio space so if you know of a place, help an artist out!
