5 new Belgian hip-hop tracks to start the weekend: Ashley Morgan, Phasm & more
Every week, we select five new Belgian hip-hop bangers that somehow caught our attention. Keep sending us new tracks or EP releases via music@chase.be, and maybe your name will be on the list next Friday. We were drowned with new albums and EP's the past couple of days, and some artists that got back on track after some silent months or years. If you are as curious as we, read along with us!

ASHLEY MORGAN - STOP
After Ashley Morgan made it to our Belgian hip-hop list in the very beginning with his first single, he is now back with a complete EP. 'LETGOLETGOLETGO' is his first EP, of which the title is a play on words with his previous artist name LTGL. The influences of old school 90's hip-hop are very clear in the track 'STOP', where he shows off his smooth spitting talent. This EP asks for more in the future!
KRAPUUL FT APEX RAPTORS - HALVELITERMUZIEK
Ghent-based and not scared to bring some very raw Belgian hip-hop. Lyrics-wise they have something of the old De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig, nasty and unambiguous but with a Ghent accent and darker beats. Cara Pils on the album art was the exact right choice, as that was probably what they were drinking while recording this track in some dark and trashy room. Or that's what we imagined when we listened to this track. This is the equivalence of good trash, well done.
PHASM FT LORD GASMIQUE - NIHILISME
We have no idea what comes harder: the beat, the lyrics or the high quality of this music video. Nihilisme is the title track of Phasm's new album 'Nihilisme', which dropped last week. With features such as Chuki Beats, Lord Gasmique and K1D, this album is one for the books. Brussels hip-hop that's not afraid to sit down with Flemish artists for features, delivers quality!
34A - EVERYDAY
Another new album! 34A dropped the music video for EveryDay last week, together with their new mixtape 'En attendant l'album', which came out last Friday. Twenty tracks to keep us quiet for some time, listening and enjoying the features and beats. They recently posted an Instagram post with Damso too, should we be keeping our eyes open for a collaboration?
BRINGHIM - JEZEBEL FREESTYLE
Bringhim is back alive! There has been more than a year of absolute silence, except for a feature on Lil Skid's SKYE's album, but he now released a new track on the cloud. You may already know him from hits such as 'Pocahontas', which was used in the movie 'Black' in 2015, and 'Pendulum'. We were patiently waiting for the rapper to come through with something new. And he finally did, so there might be more to come!
