5 new Belgian hip hop tracks to check out: Tiewai, Luie Louis & more!
We have finally reached the end of a year which never seemed to end. And although neither of us has any clue what we did from March up until now, we know it was the longest year of our life. Even though we had no festivals, concerts, or parties to celebrate new music, we still did enlist our favorite releases. Our Belgian hip hop Spotify playlist provides a selection of what we thought was worth checking out, even in a shitty year such as 2020. And here are the final five of the year of musical hell. Enjoy!

TIEWAI FT. ZWANGERE GUY - OPNIEUW
Limburg based rapper Tiewai, who has been a steady name in our Belgian hip hop industry, released a new album to end 2020 on a positive note. ‘Opnieuw’ is the magical combination of Brussels’ biggest talent, with one of Limburgs’ finest. Not only Belgian hip hop but also multiple Dutch features shine on this album. And even an amazing performance of saxophone player Coen Witteveen.
LUIE LOUIS FT. DRIEZY BLIEZY - SAUS (PROD. ANDERS)
This track has every greasy part it should have with a title as ‘saus’. The beat, produced by Remi Anders, is nasty in a good way. Luie Louis and Driezy Bliezy is the perfect combination of rappers who do not mince their words. And this music video gives us goose bumps in a very uncomfortable way. And all of this is meant as a compliment.
PVGBEATS - CYPHER (FT. PJAY PARKER, MDK, KFRESH, PEAKOCK)
Even though we know that the new wave of hip hop is mostly trap or afrobeat, we still love a good old-school track. This beat of PVGbeats has every single 90’s hip hop track vibe it should have, to throw you back to your youth. Neither of these artists was on our list before, and that’s exactly what makes this such an awesome collab.
CHUKI BEATS FT. LIL SKID, YUNG MAVU, AND ALIOTH - SWIM
32Worldwide knows exactly how to keep us busy listening to music. Another massively well-done collaboration between these boys, so it had to make our list. Imagine having one of the best producers in Belgium on the beat, combined with some Belgian-style The Weeknd and a better version of Playboi Carti than the man himself on his latest album. This is 10/10 Belgian hip hop.
YUV FT. CHRISUPTOWN - INTRO
Okay, we’ve had old school hip hop, we had 2020 trap and to finish this list we just added some new names in the Dutch drill scene. These guys are new, with only 30 monthly listeners on Spotify we proudly present some fresh on the Belgian hip hop scene names. Shoutout to these two new guys for still making the list as the very last name of 2020.
We want to thank every artist, reader, and Belgian hip hop listener for making 2020 a little bit better by being part of the urban community. We hope to see every single one of you soon at festivals, concerts, and parties to have the time of our life again. Up until then, keep supporting the Belgian hip hop scene by streaming your favorite artists in the scene.
