CYRA GWYNTH - HIGH (QUARANTINE STYLE)
Gwynth is like the Belgian hip hop cocktail of 90’s Ciara and modern-day Ariana Grande. As we are able to visit our boy- or girlfriend, secret lover or tinder match again, this track is what you should blast through your speakers to set the mood. It’s a classic female R&B track, Nillies inspired but made in 2020. The equivalent of nowadays love stories.
SEVENS - REDEFINE
Redefine is a track about new love, about being the one and only even though you haven’t had such good interactions with love in the past. Sevens wrote a love letter, Remi De Roeck produced one. We feel like we’ve been forgetting about Remi a.k.a. Anders, although a shitload of tracks in our weekly updates are produced by him. The guy is surely the next big name in the Belgian producer scene. And Sevens has once again written a track which celebrates his talent.
DELPORTAU - MY CITY
Haitian born Delportau grew up in Belgium, and after having to let go of rugby due to an injury he now focusses on his rap career. In 2019 his first single Money Moves released on streaming services, and the guy has now built his own little rap empire in which he serves positive vibes combined with drill. ‘My City’ is his latest release, and we are here for it.
BADI & BODDHI SATVA - VIRGIL ABLOH
Well, Badi & Boddhi Satva are definitely fans of Off White owner and Louis Vuitton designer Virgil Abloh. And after releasing this track, Abloh himself picked it up and started following the boys on social media. This is the perfect afrobeat summer track combined with a house-inspired sound, to make it even more accessible to the big public. If this doesn’t make you ready for summer, then we don’t know what will.
YOUNG B - SEÑORITA
A few weeks ago we already warned everyone about what rapper Young B was about to come with, and this new track once again proves this is a name to keep an eye on. The artist serves Belgian hip hop at international level as if this comes straight from America. That’s exactly the reason why the rapper got a feature by American rapper Rocnation on this one. The single is in the run-up to his EP which will be dropping soon. We are excited.
KRAPUUL - MOOD.2020
Ghent based rapper Krapuul is what we call a Belgian hip hop talent who knows how to impress while rapping in his own accent. Something that isn’t easy at all, but his flow and lyrics are both creative and rude. Which fits exactly the vibe he is showing off. This track got the perfect title, as being angry and disappointed in society is exactly the mood everyone has in 2020. Dark humour, but served on a golden plate of rap skills.
