6 new Belgian hip hop tracks to start the week: Spacebabymadcha, DMC Homie & more
Every week we make a selection of Belgian hip hop bangers that somehow caught our attention. FROZE FT. RICK DE VIK, PEPE, JAY MNG & FATIH - HIMALAYA RMX
Froze has been teasing his new album ‘Brieven’, and we’re hoping this track sets the mood for his album. With Brussels, Antwerp, and Ghent featuring on one track, this is a few times in a lifetime. The boys got creative with their own phone cameras to serve a music video during lockdown times, and this beat is another master creation of Remi De Roeck aka Anders.
DMC HOMIE - MONEY RACE
Dmc Homie is a French-rapping Belgian artist who grew up in Cologne, but now spends most of his time in Liege to work on his upcoming EP FVCKINGSMILE. Money Race is the first single with a music video to promote the EP, made with the help of producer Checkpoint. This track forms a steady base of what we can expect from DMC’s EP!
DARREN & OLDBOI - HOP OFF A JET
Darren is a Belgian rapper who is still very unknown but deserves the shine. Often part of cypher events, he is now releasing new tracks to promote his upcoming EP ‘Detox’ together with Oldboi. Although Darren’s style of music usually is darker and grungier, this track represents a message to an important person. We could definitely use messages like this these days!
SPACEBABYMADCHA - WOKE UP IN A DREAM
Okay, this one is a name who should be on repeat for a week before being tired of it. Spacebabymadcha is an Antwerp-based rapper who represents unlimited energy and good vibes 24/7. This nasty 808beat, which slaps like hell, and the right use of autotune makes her enormously popular with our northern neighbors. Jacin Trill is probably one of her biggest fans, and now she can put us on that list too.
KIID LE ROI - MYW
Another one by producer Anders! Kiid Le Roi, Antwerp-based rapper, is back with a new banger. He used to be touring with Slongs Dievanongs but is now focussing on his own career, with this first single. Giving an uplifting view on depression and prejudices, this track is catchy and high-quality Dutch rap.
IZAYA MOD - IL LE FALLAIT
Izaya Mod has been on our list before, and it’s because we like what he has been doing the past months that he deserves another spot in here. ‘Il Le Fallai’t is another track in anticipation of his album or EP, which we hope is rather sooner than later. This track hit us from the very first beat, including his well known The Weeknd-inspired voice.
