NEW ATL - PROVE IT (PROD. BY SOULY)
Major Atlanta trap vibes alarm! New ATL is a fresh name on our list but we just know this is going to blow up. This guy grew up surrounded by Jazz and Gospel, but he definitely created his own Belgian version of Atlanta trap in its purest form. Also, he shouts out his producer in his verses, which we think shows his humbleness. For more New ATL you can tune into our latest Talksik Podcast.
UNIS - HUMAN (PROD. BY DAHR)
Unis has been on our Belgian hip hop list before, but this must be the most soul opening form we’ve seen her so far. Human is an honest lo-fi track, about the pure relationship she has with herself and her own mind. Her mesmerizing voice takes you on a trip through the soothing words of this neo-soul piece of art.
NORTHSIDEBASE FT. CM2 - CAREFREE (PROD. BY KVNE)
None of these guys are new on our list, yet always a good addition. Both part of the Antwerp based collective of Mind Off Mars, we lowkey felt this collaboration was about to happen. And here it is. Carefree is the energy, although it seems hard to be living by that motto during a worldwide pandemic. Although it’s a good wake up call to not worry constantly.
LYNA - RUN IT UP (BEAT BY LEKEUS)
There are so-called one-hit wonders, then some artists have the chance to make two hits, and then there is Lyna who has just been making one catchy hit after another. Most of us are probably still screaming ‘I’ve got booty a day’, but we are currently running it up already. This woman is made to make it as a pop star, so instead of the Belgian hip hop lists, she’ll make it to the Billboard 100.
JAZZY BENCH - CAN I (FREESTYLE) (PROD. BY AIME13)
For those who don’t know, Jazzy Bench is one of our two hosts of our Talksik podcast. The rapper released ‘Can I’ last week, a freestyle Dutch track about him questioning our current society. The Brussels based rapper has been an all-round creative for a while now, and with this freestyle, he proves once again that rapping is one of the many talents he owns.
BOBO - NOG EVEN (ONDERWEG #1) (PROD. BY XCUSEMEE)
New artist on the block. Bobo is releasing a series called Onderweg, in which he travels with us through his rap music. The Dutch rapping artist is ready to conquer the Belgian hip hop scene, and this high-class music video by Alane Bems shows the quality of what is following in the future.
SEL FT. DRIEZY BLIEZY - SPOKEN IN UW CITY
During the second lockdown, which is still going strong right now, Sel dove into the studio with Driezy Bliezy. Shortly after his latest album ‘Never Hier’, he is already releasing new singles to add to his repertoire. The Antwerp based rapper Driezy Bliezy hopped on this track with him. Both artists delivered some steady ‘rona proof Belgian hip hop to end the week with.
