Champion Sound Celebrates 5 Year Anniversary with Party and SP-404 Compilation
Champion Sound first saw the day of light back in 2012-2013, when three event promotors decided to put their heads together to promote their local beat scene. What started out as a beat battle, rapidly grew into a whole platform: from curating the 22tracks Brussels beats playlist and releasing compilations, to hosting events and playing strictly Belgian DJ sets at festivals such as Couleur Café and Laundry Day.
Their very first beat battle, back in 2013, included the likes of LTGL, Freddy Bracker, Jarreau Vandal, Torus and various other producers who’ve managed to leave their stamp on the worldwide beat scene. Over the course of the last 5 years, the hosts have decided to exclusively reach out to Belgian producers. Their forthcoming annual beat battle will find place on the 24th of February 2018.
In order to celebrate their 5-year anniversary, the Champion Sound squad is throwing a birthday bash on the 21st of October at TRIX club, Antwerp.
The line-up includes some of Belgium’s finest homegrown bedroom producers and DJs, joined by exciting, international headliners.
A couple of months ago Champion Sound held an SP-404 summer session at Het_Eiland, a popup location in Antwerp. A dozen bedroom producers showcased their sampling and knob-twisting skills with the legendary sampler, used by the likes of J Dilla and Madlib.
Along with the announcement of their birthday bash, you can now download the SP-404 compilation for free via Champion Sound’s Bandcamp page.
