Created in 2017, this year will be the third edition of the tropical festival with 30 artists performing on 3 differents stages. Bomboclat is all about dancehall and Afrobeats with a touch of hip-hop. This year they will invite big dancehall names like Busy Signal, Bob Marley's grandson Jo Mersa Marley and many more artists from Jamaica, Guyana, Ghana, Congo, Ivory Coast, England, Germany,...

Bomboclat festival is a festival bathed in diversity, where people from different ages, ethnicities and cities within Belgium find their place. To reinforce this, there will be a Chase Culture Crossing at the heart of the festival, on the crossroad between the 3 Bomboclat stages’ ways and the entrance. At the Culture Crossing you’re invited to listen and participate in discussions with fascinating speakers and on top of that you'll be able to listen and dance to a fine selection of Belgian DJs. You'll also be able to shop at a market uniting the best hairdressing and fashion shops, eat a little snack from worlds’ kitchen and, of course, chill out.

You can move around the Cultural Crossing guided by your senses or take in the views from the culture terrace, which will fill the fourth corner of the intersection. A little tip: dress to impress because the Culture Crossing will be highly frequented by Chase photographers!

Writer and columnist Dalilla Hermans and Chase founder Sven De Coninck will be hosting 8 talks on diversity and its representation and explore this topic on different levels and from multiple points of view. On the line-up for the talks: the Film Fest Gent awarded filmmakers Anthony Nti & Chingiz Karibekov who also shot videoclips for artists including SLM and TheColorGrey, theatre makers and founders of the association BeHuman Nyira Hens & Jaouad Alloul and DJ and VK concerts programmer Rrita Jashari.

Next to that, there will also be talks by digital storytellers and journalists like Reine Elisabeth Nkiambote and Tracy Bibo-Tansia from Yaya Talk podcast and poet and writer Aya Sabi. Will also be talking: Don Pandzou, opinion-maker who's responsible for youth and diversity at De Ambrassade and journalists Anouk Torbeyns and Lieven Kandolo. Between the talks, there will be DJ sets by Chase editor in chief Azer, Chase member Yooth and DJ and VK concerts programmer Rrita Jashari.

At the Chase Culture Crossing, you will also have the possibility to take a break and eat a little something. Several delicious food spots will be there to awaken your taste buds and satisfy your belly. Burgers, pizzas, falafels, or hot dogs are perfect for the ones who crave a snack. And if you have more time, you can let yourself be tempted by Jamaican, Congolese, Senegalese, Gambian, or Chinese cuisine! You will probably recognise caterers Afro Burgers, Fusion of taste, #Falafel, Tom's diners, Senegambian and more.

Laetitia Sabiti, African culture blogger at Point.Cinque curated the best shops and brands for the market at Culture Crossing. Over there you'll find beautiful clothing, make-up, design objects, handmade art and body and hairdressing items.

We are really excited to start this new adventure, to experience and share it with you. Rendez-vous Friday 23 and Saturday 24 at Zeebrugge beach for Bomboclat Festival!
