'SEX EDUCATION' (2020): VIRGIN SCHOOLBOY MAKING BUSINESS OUT OF SEX PROBLEMS
What better way to learn about sex from a 16-year-old schoolboy who is still a virgin? In 'Sex Education', we follow Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield) and his friends helping fellow students with their intimate problems. No, they are not very experienced but they do eliminate some misunderstandings. Besides hilarious substitute shame, this sex-positive series gives an insight into serious topics such as safe sex and sexual harassment.
'SEX EXPLAINED' (2020): BYE TABOO, HELLO NON-FICTION STORIES, AND FACTS ON SEX
If you prefer a mix of facts and non-fictional stories about sex, then 'Sex Explained' is definitely recommended. This sex-positive spin-off from the American Vox series 'Explained' focuses on five different topics such as attraction and fantasies. According to sex experts in the series, 97% of American adults sometimes have an exciting scenario in mind. But Vox digs deeper and also wonders why some cannot have children or how childbirth can be less painful.
'REVERSING ROE' (2018): HOW WOMEN FOUGHT HARD FOR THEIR RIGHT TO CONTROL THEIR OWN BODY
Anyone sex-positive and sexually active must be able to be in control of their own body. Even when you become pregnant by accident but don't have the desire to become a parent. In 'Reversing Roe', we go back to 1973 and learn about this important question asked by the American Supreme Court: "Is it the government that decides on abortion or the women themselves?". Now, when Donald Trump is the first American president to walk in an anti-abortion march, this documentary is a reminder of how much effort it took to let women decide (and how difficult it will be to reverse a new anti-abortion law).
'SEX & LOVE AROUND THE WORLD' (2018): SIX COUNTRIES EXPERIENCING SEX AND INTIMACY THEIR WAY
Curious about how other continents experience their sex life? CNN documentary maker Christiane Amanpour reveals the answer in the sex-positive documentary 'Love & Sex Around The World'. She traveled and talked to people from six different countries: Tokyo, Delhi, Beirut, Berlin, Accra, and Shanghai. Among other things, she discovers sexless marriages, clubs for body contact and even Tinderporno. In this documentary, Amanpour shows us how culture influences the way we physically interact with others.
'TUCA & BERTIE' (2019): SEXUAL ASSAULT AND TRAUMA PROCESSED IN COLORFUL ANIMATION
If you like to watch a series where sex and intimacy have an underlying presence, then 'Tuca & Bertie' is a good option. The sex-positive series follows two birds, narrated by the American comedians Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong, who help each other through difficulties in life. They survive 'sex bugs' (or STDs), fight against sexual harassment and overcome a dark trauma from the past. All of this in contrast with the colorful world in which they live.
