About the podcast
We dare to say quite certain: few or no people can raise their hands with all three questions. Flemings say they suffer from burnout complaints.

Especially during the coronavirus pandemic, the boundary between work and private life has become blurred for many, which requires a lot of adaptability. Our job is a big part of our daily life, which is why it's so important to build strategies there too to ensure our well-being.
The fact that we can deliver such a high-quality product that has received so many enthusiastic reactions is partly thanks to Chase Creative's professional guidance. — Sara Drieghe, Trustpunt, UGent
Throughout 6 episodes, hosts Lore Vermeulen (Trustpunt, UGent) and Pieter Blomme (Chase podcast expert) will find out how we can keep our work workable. Based on personal stories from Ghent University employees and discussions with experts, they provide answers to work-related concerns in the HR podcast 'The Better Work'. This includes professors Johan Braeckman, Els Clays, Lieven De Marez, Emelien Lauwerier, Eveline Schollaert and professor/minister Petra de Sutter. In each episode, concrete tools are provided that you too might be able to apply to work.

The purpose of this HR podcast
In the words of UGent rector Rik Van de Walle:
Mental well-being at work is often still taboo. With Ghent University, we want to break that taboo. The real, relatable stories in this podcast can help with that. They complement the concrete tools that we provide to our employees to increase their well-being.
What was originally going to be a project for and by UGent staff was quickly opened to the general public. UGent rector Rik van de Walle, among others, found it important that the podcast was accessible to everyone. The more people can learn from it, the better.
The process
The 6-part HR podcast involved months of preparatory work. Chase and Ghent University quickly developed a good symbiosis here. From the hosts, to the guests, to the testimonials: the role of the UGent staff in making this podcast was indispensable. With the help of Sara and Lore from Trustpunt, the psychosocial welfare service at Ghent University, we were able to attract dozens of colleagues for a personal story, including the rector and vice-rector. Hosts Pieter and Lore also both work at Ghent University.
Within this collaboration, Chase was responsible for:
- Creative concept and podcast format
- Technical hosting & publishing
- Social advertising campaign
- Your own podcast landing page & copywriting
- Podcast artwork, visuals, and audiograms
- Audio & video teaser creation

It was very nice working with young and driven people who know how to get things done. I found the contact to be very easy, I was able to discuss any concerns and ask questions. I am very pleasantly surprised by the professionalism that exudes from the end product. — Lore Vermeulen, Trustpunt UGent
The results
Just 1 week after its launch, “The Better Work” already ranked #1 in the health category on Apple Podcasts. In the overall ranking, it took seventh place, ending up ahead of a number of established names in the Flemish podcast world. In addition to these great figures, we also noticed a lot of enthusiasm among Ghent University staff, and the social campaign was eagerly shared with the target group. This also allowed us to achieve a great deal of awareness and engagement around the theme of well-being at work.

We are already very satisfied with such results and, above all, hope that the listeners have also been able to take tips with them!
You can find the podcast at Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts whether Spotify and, of course, also on the website from The Better Work.
Very happy that I was able to participate in this. Personally, I think this is a very successful podcast series with great testimonials about well-being at work and that are then framed by experts. Highly recommended! (Mieke van Herreweghe — Vice-Rector UGent)
